Hemodynamic monitoring - 8-9 marzo 2018

RATIONALE
Continuous cardiac output (CO) monitoring has been proved to be of primary importance in high-risk surgery and critically ill patients1 . The appropriate measurement and interpretation of advanced haemodyna- mic variables may help guide therapeutic interventions, which in turn can improve patient outcome. To improve patient management and outcome, the clinician must understand the advantages and the limitations of the tools and parameters used during perioperative care2.
Advanced training covers the most appropriate interpretation and use of the information provided by minimally invasive CO monitors and is one of the most important steps to reduce the risk of complications and support the best clinical practice.
TEACHING METHODS
The course consists of a theoretical classroom session plus two practical elements: macrosimulation and exercises in operating room/intensive care. These sessions will facilitate a positive interaction between participants and the group of expert trainers and tutors, by creating realistic and genuine clinical scenarios, including the monitoring of severe cases like those treated in the intensive care environment.
A session of collective debriefing will then enable participants to discuss the practical activities carried out during the course.
